Change on Surge for Sorcerers is a bad idea



We got negate that potentially changes up the field for allies, there's that 2 bar pet for heal, there's major berserk for 1 ally, minor prophecy and that weird usage of lighting flood thingy going on past 3 patches for alkoash... To me I see Sorc Healer as more of changing area kind of healer.

This makes me think why not debuff type of healer? You have dark magicka as support skill line? There's a lot of PvP only situational skills that could be modified for pve? How about the hardly used skills?

  • Why wasn't Dark Conversion considered? Instead of self heal, how about a group heal to allies? This would allow them to give minor prophecy easily to groups? This would also give them ability to be sustainable healers as Sorcerers are in typical fantasy. This would also synergize will with passive that gives more stamina regain for slotting pet.
  • Why wasn't defensive rune considered? You could adjust it so defensive rune gives a defensive rune to allies that heals or something? How about minor evasion on it with a small heal over time?
  • Why wasn't encase considered for a heal. Attach Major vitality and heal to allies depending how many enemies you encase. This would make it skillful heal and give Sorc class a healing boost like all other classes? Still there's sorcs tanks so might be some classing of their playstle... but it's another post for their lack playstle
  • Why wasn't crystal blast considered? I know blast has some nice aoe burst damage...but come on just give sorc aoe damage in first place and stop trying change crystal blast. I have seen off top of my ahead 3 types of changes for it. Okay fair enough guess sorc is only who can pick between single target and aoe damage... but it's useless in pve where single damage is only thing that matters. (WTB aoe test dummy)
  • Why wasn't Deadric Mines considered? Do we really need 2 pvp morphs for this skill? How about allies wall on runes to be allied. This could give them a rune healer playstle.

Now how do you envision Sorc healers with surge as a playstyle with healing zos? I would hope you reconsider and look at dark magicka skill line instead. You could have a debuff style aka curse healer or maybe a rune healer as you got 2 skills with rune in name.

How does it compare to other Healer playstyles?

You already have dps type with nightblades and their blood magic, the stand your center type of Paladin with Templar, the timing and nature types with wardens, the positing and corpse type with wardens. Then you look at that class

  • Lacks Healing passives such as minor mending, major mending, Major valitity. or Minor vitality
  • Lacks group support buffs for PvE content compared to other 5 classes
  • Lacks bar space with 2
  • Uses mostly resto and destro skills
  • You nerfed empowarded ward
  • You took away the third bar
  • You nerfed twlight Maritach
  • Negate hardly has any usage in PvE situations
  • Lack of group migration skill
